FARM VACATIONS:
July/August 1973
By Sarah Funk
So teach your new friends how to milk a cow, show them the newborn kids and give the children the job of exploring the henhouse for eggs each evening. Above all, don't put on any masks. Just be yourselves and relax with your visitors. Share your delights with them, but also your plans, fears, problems and hopes. That's what these people have come for, whether they know it or not: they're after inspiration and regeneration, and they hope to find it through communion with nature and those close to nature. They will—let's hope—go back to their homes refreshed and relaxed, maybe ready to start a window garden or bake some bread.
