Most holiday pie recipes call for cream and eggs. For a healthier
(and vegan) alternative this holiday season, try replacing the milk
and eggs with 4 to 5 tablespoons of arrowroot powder (a natural
thickener extracted from a tropical plant root). This creates a
creamy pie that holds together beautifully and has fewer calories
and less saturated fat.
