Regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle can lower your
cholesterol. High blood pressure, obesity, elevated levels of
stress and poor circulation contribute to high cholesterol.
Exercise lowers your blood pressure and keeps your weight in check,
as well as relieves stress and improves your circulation. Here are
three tips for combating high cholesterol:

- Walk. Brisk walking is good for people who already have
heart disease. Walk for 20 to 30 minutes four or more times weekly.
This can lower the chance for heart attack by up to 50
percent.
- Keep a healthy body weight. Obesity can quadruple your
odds of dying from heart disease.
- Stop smoking. Smoking increases cholesterol levels by
damaging the arterial lining of blood vessels, as well as
constricts and hardens coronary arteries. Fortunately, the risk of
heart attack tapers off soon after you stop smoking.
