Country Lore: The best home remedy for bee, wasp and bumble bee stings is an onion.
The best home remedy for bee, wasp and bumble bee stings is to cut an onion in half and apply it right to the sting. After a few moments of slightly sharper stinging, the pain will diminish almost immediately, and the sting will heal in a short while. I always keep an onion in my first aid kit when traveling, camping, etc.

My Father always kept tobacco handy for bee stings. Wet it, or if you are so inclined chew a little and apply the wet tobacco to the sting. It works. I've used it myself. My Father kept sone tobacco (he wasn't a user) in his glove compartment in his vehicle. He was a painting contractor in Florida, and subject to wasp stings most of the year.
