Most professional furriers require that a group of pelts offered for sale match in fur density and length and be of a uniform color. Therefore, rabbit breeders who are focusing on the commercial market should limit themselves to one or two colors of bunnies. (The most popular hues are chinchilla, castor, beige, seal, black, blue, and white.)

Generally, payments for pelts will average $5.00 to $8.00 apiece for prime Rex furs, and $3.00 to $5.00 each for Satin and Normal skins. However, the payment will fluctuate with the condition of the hide and the state of the ever-changing fur trade.
I strongly suggest that, if you're interested in marketing your rabbit pelts, you contact individual furriers who purchase tanned or green hides. Such folks can give you the best information on desirable fur types and colors, packaging, shipping, and rates of pay.
