Since this article was written, at least one additional American manufacturer has begun operations, under the name of The Whole Mother Earth Waterworks (we're honored). In a letter in MOTHER NO. 21, pg. 3, Edward Barberie—TWMEW's founder made an outstandingly generous offer—He'll build you a ram pump free... when he can afford to and if you can meet the prerequisites for the device's installation. In that same letter Edward gave a brief description of the pump's working and full instructions for its manufacture out of simple plumbing parts. To keep the Waterworks from being swamped in a flood of nonpaying orders, we urge you to build the gadget yourself if at all possible (cost: about $12.00). Or you can get faster service and make sure that the magnanimous Mr. Barberie at least breaks even by sending $16.95—and a description of your requirements—to:
