If you have ever wondered how bikeable a city is, then Bike Score has the answers you're looking for.

couple bikingThe concept is simple: Bike Score rates a city on how easy someone could ride a bike in it. Four components are measured to create a score — bike lanes, hills, destinations and road connectivity, and bike commuting road share.

The score ranges from 0 to 100, and the higher the score the better the bikeability. So far the most bikeable city in the U.S. is Boulder, Colorado, with a score of 86. Minneapolis, Minnesota, follows with a score of 79.

Bike Score is a concept that grew out of similar services called Walk Score and Transit Score. The goal is to connect people to communities with greener, more sustainable transportation options.

Visit the Bike Score website to improve the service by submitting your ideas and additional cities.
