The Concentric Yen is actually one yea within another... it offers five times the space of a Standard Yurt, and has been used as a library, community common room, and permanent home. The inner yurt is raised half a story, and the entire structure boasts abundant lighting from twenty-six 32" X 34" windows. Materials cost varies from $2,500 to $3,500. Both this plan (price $5.00) and the Standard Yurt plan are needed to build the Concentric Yurt.
Please write to the Yen Foundation about your experiences in building (pictures are appreciated). The Yurt design is still developing, and your suggestions are important. The simpler we can make our designs, the more people will be allowed to experience the joy of providing their own shelter.
